UPnP / DLNA Media Server and Renderer
UPnP / DLNA Media Servers (DMS) store and share digital media, such as photographs, movies or music. These media servers use the Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) protocol to perform device discovery and DLNA protocols to browse and transfer media over a LAN to compatible DLNA Media Renderer (DMR) devices - like TV's, PC's, Mobile Phones, Tablets, etc.
UPnP / DLNA Media Servers on their own provide AV Control Points to browse music content on the server and to request the Media Server to start streaming the selected media to the UPnP / DLNA Renderer for playback.
RS Soft Tech Global Services has developed exteremely small footprint DMS and DMR stacks that are UPnP specification compliant and DLNA certifiable that target embedded devices with resource constraints.
The UPnP/DLNA Media Server shares Audio, Video and Picture media files to UPnP/DLNA compliant media players or media renderers under the control of a DLNA Media Controller device on the network.
UPnP™ products support automatic discovery, whereby a device can dynamically join a network, announce its name, convey its capabilities upon request, and learn about the presence and capabilities of other devices. Furthermore, a device can leave a network smoothly and automatically without leaving any unwanted state behind.
